What I have here is the Hera X Blindness Black Cushion, a 2018 limited edition of the Hera Black Cushion in collaboration between Hera and millennial favorite fashion brand Blindness.
Hera x Blindness Holiday collection brings out the definition of a new form of beauty that shines beyond the gender boundaries, it means that makeup has no gender and it can be wear by anyone. This collection is consist of a cushion, eye shadows, glow contour duo, and liquid matte lipstick. And I love the playing card design of this collection.
The gorgeous Korean actress Jun Ji-Hyun is the current model of this brand.
WHAT IS IT
A makeup cushion foundation with a lightweight texture for comfortable yet beautiful skin all day long. With SPF 43/PA++, made in Korea.
Product Features:
- Ultra Fine Powder Dispersion technology offers light yet full coverage, while mica coated with amino acid derivatives blends in with the skin for enhanced brightness.
- Double Lasting Layer comprises two layers: a hard layer and a soft film for makeup that lasts longer.
- Matte Finish Gel leaves the skin feeling soft, fresh and matte without a sticky feeling.Gel dispersed in liquid phase gives a semi-matte finish, like powder applied on top of foundation.
PRICE: P2620 around $50 (unfortunately I couldn't give the link of this product directly to Althea because this product is no longer available on there site as it was a limited edition.
This cushion contains 15g and comes with a 15g refill, so I think the price is reasonable enough for a high end brand cushion this.
PACKAGING:
I love the design of this cushion, the ace queen illustration look artistic and sophisticated. The only thing is that I don't understand what does this silver cursive words "Quingh" means? Does it mean queen? IDK! I've been looking for its meaning but Google doesn't have any idea too.
I also love how sleek this packaging in black and silver tone.
Even its push button is silver but in matte finish and it has a curve body.
It has a protective black foil inside that seals the cushion.
It's puff is all in black with a HERA logo on its strap. It's puff is high quality and soft yet it's color starts to fade after so many use, I don't mind it as long as it is in a good condition.
When you peeled it's protective foil, it's sponge type cushion will be revealed. It has Hera's symbol engraved on it. You will just need to press it with its puff to use it.
I have this cushion in shade #23 Beige which I thinks is the darkest shade of the Hera X Blindness Cushion but on there site the original design of Hera Black Cushion has six different shades and it has the darkest shade than #23 which is the #25 Amber.
SWATCH, SCENT & TEXTURE:
It has a nice floral scent, that at first smells strong yet the scent dissipates few minutes after application. Its texture is quite thick and dry. Shade #23 in Beige has a medium warm beige shade with peach undertone and my skin has a medium color with warm undertone. At first application the color looks one shade lighter on me but it definitely blends out with my natural skin tone and matches my skin. It has a semi-matte finish, and gives a subtle glow on my skin. I love semi matte foundations and cushions because I have an oily skin but I don't like full matte finish as it is too flat for me and sometimes tends to cake, so this cushion's semi-matte finish is just perfect. It feels lightweight on my skin and feels comfortable to wear, though it claims to have a powdery and non sticky finish, I still need to set it with powder because it's still feel a little bit tacky and it doesn't control oil.

Welcome to my bare face! I only toned, and applied La Vien Volufiline Radiance Essence that's why my skin looks dewy.
At first layer, it only provides light cover on my blemishes but my complexion look more even toned and radiant.
At second layer,most of my blemishes got covered, except for the large dark spots. My skin look smoother too, there are some caking on some areas of my cheek though. I didn't apply anything on my neck to compare my natural color with the foundation.

WEAR TEST:
After 4-5 hours of wearing Hera Black Cushion, the coverage fades but my face still look decent. I can still see that I have this foundation on my face but it is oily so I need to blot and set it with setting powder.

My Thoughts & Review
I received this cushion last January when the weather is cool and dry and honestly I didn't like using this cushion that time, because this cushion feels too dry and is hard to blend on skin. I observed that it also cakes and also emphasizes flaky skin. That's why I don't recommend this cushion to dry skin types or in winter season.
However, the summer season already begin here in Philippines, and because this cushion is too expensive to just sit in my drawer, I start using this cushion again. And I'm thankful that I did, because opposite to what I experienced before, this cushion blends easily now when applied on my skin. I also love the semi matte finish that it provides on my skin. It has a brightening effect, my skin doesn't look dull when I wear this cushion. Though it still cakes on some areas in second layering, it doesn't look bad at all because it's only minimal. I love using this cushion and always reach out for it these days because it is not greasy and comfortable to wear this summer season.
Overall, this cushion is great for summer and for combination and oily skin types!
Would I repurchase?
I think no, because I would love to try other cushions from other brands. And I think there are other cushions out there that's better than this in terms of long lasting effect and doesn't cake with a cheaper price.
