TMYS Iconic Brightening Essence Review

Dear lovelies, today's review will be the Iconic Brightening Serum from the Indie Beauty Brand TMYS which stands for 'To Make You Smile', there brand name sounds really cool right?! It's my first time to try a product from Thailand and I really got excited to try this brightening serum.

"Brighter your skin than ever!"

TMYS Iconic Brightening Essence claims to help visibly correct skin tone, reduce dark spots and restore moisture balance. Skin appears brighter, smoother, more translucent and luminous. TMYS formulated this essence with unique formula and specifically selected the best organic and nature ingredients without the harmful effects of modern science.
There product is also Vegan and Cruelty-free.

TMYS Iconic Brightening Essence contains 2% Vitamin C(Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate), 3% Hyaluronic Acid and 5% Vitamin B3
Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate is a water-soluble, stable derivative of Vitamin C, unlike Vitamin C, MAP is non irritating makes it gentle for sensitive skin and  a better choice for those who doesn't like the exfoliating effect of vitamin C . Same potential as vitamin C it also boost skin collagen synthesis, but is more effective in significant lower concentrations. Hyaluronic Acid is known for its unique ability to hold in moisture, which our skin need to prevent aging. Vitamin B3 also known as niacinamide, has an anti aging properties, enhances your skin barrier and helps to fade skin discoloration.

Iconic Brightening Serum is in a sunny yellow packaging, with a dark, tinted color bottle to prevent the Vitamin C from light/ sun exposure, hence to avoid oxidation. It has a dedicated dropper for product dispensing and its carton box contains helpful product information in English.

This product has only 2 years of life shelf, the lower the life shelf means the less preservatives it has.

Though this essence doesn't contains any added artificial  fragrance, it has a citrusy herbal scent that probably due to its essential oil ingredients like bergamot orange oil, sweet orange oil, rosemary leaf oil,and cedarwood oil. Aside from its lovely scent, essential oils are also beneficial to our skin but if you are sensitive to essential oils please be careful.

As for its texture, it has a thick and slippery consistency and milky in color. At first I didn't noticed that this essence contains micro particles but when I applied it on my skin there is a rough texture that stung my skin a bit, to prevent the stinging effect I apply this essence in a gentle tap-tap motion using my fingers and no more stinging sensation. I'm not sure what are these micro particles are made of, but I think it is the Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate.

Because I already use 21.5% concentration of Vitamin C in the past which I think has the highest concentration of Vitamin C in skincare products (review Here), I apply this product on my skin day and night for 3 weeks now and I noticed that it does brighten my skin and prevented my healed acne to scar. As of now, my skin complexion look healthier and my skin feels elastic too which I think Iconic Brightening Essence contributed to this effect. It is also very mild on my skin, even though I use it twice a day I didn't notice any skin irritation or signs of weaken skin barrier. But for first time vitamin C user, I still advise to introduce it onto your skin gradually until your skin get use to acids.
