Hi lovelies, can't believe that today is the end of November, and I know many of you are already looking forward for the 'most wonderful time of year'- Christmas Holiday! Do you already have plans? prepared the gifts for your love ones? Just thinking about Christmas holiday makes me giggle, I'm really excited!
But right now, before this month end let me share to you my review about Althea's latest product that has been sent to me to test and review. After Petal Velvet Sunaway, Althea once again launches a new product and it's the Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask that we will talk about for today, so here's my milky review!
According to the brand, Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask is a gentle exfoliating wash-off mask that transforms from a clay to a whipped cream lather. It's formulated with AHA and BHA which helps gently peel-off dead skin cells to reveal smoother skin. It also contains Casein Protein (Milk) to bring moisture and revitalize your skin. And Kaolin, a soft white clay that detoxifies and pulls out impurities from the pores. Dermatologist tested.
Content: 50ml
Price: P490 at Althea Korea
How to use: Dampen the skin and apply an even layer onto the skin, massaging till the rich lather forms. Leave on for 30-60 seconds before rinsing away with warm water.
Bubble masks are the type of wash-off masks that gives me fun, I just love to see the bubbles forms and its fizzing sound, and this product makes me more interested because it has a nourishing benefits of milk.
First of all, let's talk about the packaging of this product, it has a simple rounded shape bottle with a pump dispenser. Because it's a milk product it has a white and light blue color bottle and of course its scent is slightly milky too that comes from a fragrance. When you pumped the product, it will only dispense a small amount of product and I need to pump it again about 3x to get the amount that I need for my whole face, for me this is nice because you'll get the precise amount that you need without wasting an excess amount of the product and I think a 50ml for a clay mask will goes a long way too.
This is what Milk Peel Cream look like when dispense and spread into your skin, it looks very smooth and very spreadable. |
After few seconds of exposure to air, it reacts and forms a crater. |
Milk Peel Cream Mask has an off-white color and thick consistency, the product looks more of a cream than clay that spreads smoothly on my face without that icky feel. It's not also messy to apply compared to other clay masks. It becomes foamy when exposed to air and I find this product very easy to rinse which is a plus for me.
It turns foamy after spreading into thin layer. |
I've read that this product is good for a daily exfoliating care but I recommend to only use this product 2-3x a week as what I do because even though I feel the moisturizing effect of milk right after I washed it off, I still find this product a little bit drying for my skin after a few minutes. But I think it is pretty normal for a clay mask and it's better than other clay masks that I've tried before which are more drying than this one. I love to use this more at day time where my skin tends to become more oily and it feels like it sucked up all the sebum in my pores leaving it matte and clean. I noticed that my face is shine free the whole day after I use Milk Peel Cream and my break outs got lessen and no big bumps these last few days when I started using this product.
Overall, I think Milk Peel Cream is effective for oil control and in cleansing my pores plus it's enjoyable to use too, so this product is a gem for me. I highly recommend this product for oily skin and with break outs problem, but please do remember that your mileage may vary.
